Instructions for installing PSPA Tech Utilities.
Installation Requirements
Install requires the following access:
- Application Designer and Datamover Privileges
- Build Records/Views Privileges
- PeopleSoft Security Privileges
- COBOL Compiler Access
The Installation package is not an upgrade but a full installation, and it will wipe out any prior changes you’ve made to the PSPA Tech Utilities tables.
Perform each of the following steps.
Installation Instructions
Download the Installation Package and Unzip Files
Load Project
Copy Project from File
Validate Project
Check that the project is loaded correctly.
Check images are loaded correctly.
Check Portal Registries are loaded correctly.
In the past, Portal Registries have been troublesome/uncooperative. The Folders sort to the bottom, so on the first load of the project, all the Content References fail to load because they can't find the parent. Try copy project from file. Then close project (open another project), then copy project from file again (at least the Portal Registry Structures). Hopefully this time the everything will load. Check Portal Registries for SM_DEFINE, SM_INQUIRE, SM_PROCESS, and SM_REPORT folders. May need to do this three times in a new database, once for PSPA_TECH_UTILITIES, once for Define, Inquire, Process, and Report Folders, and finally once for all the Content References.
Build Project
Grant Security
Add one of the following Permission Lists to an existing Role:
- SM_USER
- SM_ADMIN
Or, similarly, add all SM_ pages to a permission list and grant access.
Load Utility Data
Update Path for INPUT and LOG to match actual file locations.
Load Utility Stored Statements
Compile COBOL Modules
Move COBOL files to Server and Request Compile.
